Rules

This market resolves to “Yes” if, at any point during calendar year 2026, there is a publicly announced plan for a new pipeline project (oil, gas, or hydrogen) that would originate, terminate, or traverse through Alberta or British Columbia. “Announced” means a formal declaration by a government, pipeline company, or consortium outlining the intent to develop a new pipeline, including at least a proposed route and scope, as reported by major Canadian or international news organizations. Routine extensions of existing pipelines, minor spur lines without strategic significance, or studies/consultations without a defined project announcement do not qualify. The market resolves to “No” if no qualifying pipeline announcement is made by 23:59 EST on December 31, 2026. Resolution will be based on official statements and reporting from reputable media and industry sources.
