Federal election before May?

Rules

This market resolves to “Yes” if a Canadian federal general election is actually held—meaning voting day occurs—on or before April 30, 2026. An election is considered held only when ballots are cast nationwide under the Canada Elections Act. An announcement, writ drop, campaign period, or dissolution of Parliament without voting taking place before that date does not qualify. By-elections also do not count. The market resolves to “No” if no federal general election voting day occurs by 23:59 EST on April 30, 2026. Resolution will be based on Elections Canada records and reporting from major Canadian news organizations.
