This market resolves to “Yes” if Ali Khamenei ceases to hold the position of Supreme Leader of Iran at any point on or before January 31. This includes removal, resignation, death, or any other event that results in Khamenei no longer being recognized as Supreme Leader by Iranian state institutions. Temporary incapacity, delegation of duties, unconfirmed reports, or speculation without an official change in status will not qualify. The appointment of a successor, interim leader, or leadership council will be considered sufficient evidence that Khamenei is no longer Supreme Leader. The market resolves to “No” if Ali Khamenei remains Supreme Leader through 23:59 UTC on January 31. Resolution will be based on official statements from Iranian authorities and reporting from major international news organizations.
