Rules
This market resolves to “Yes” if at least one homicide is reported to have occurred within the City of Toronto between January 18 and January 25, inclusive. A homicide is defined as a death classified as such by the Toronto Police Service or another official law enforcement authority, including cases later determined to be murder or manslaughter. Deaths ruled as accidents, suicides, natural causes, or undetermined at the time of reporting will not qualify unless subsequently reclassified as homicide within the resolution window. Incidents occurring outside Toronto city limits will not be counted. The market resolves to “No” if no qualifying homicide is reported by 23:59 ET on January 25. Resolution will be based on official police statements and reporting from major local or national news organizations.
