Question 1

What is the Vancouver Prediction Exchange?

Accepted Answer

The Vancouver Prediction Exchange (VPX) is a Canadian prediction exchange where people trade YES and NO shares on real-world events on a limit order book, using play money.

Question 2

Is VPX real money?

Accepted Answer

No. Trading on VPX uses play money (T$), which cannot be bought with or cashed out for real currency. It is free to join.

Question 3

Can Canadians use VPX?

Accepted Answer

Yes. VPX is open to everyone in Canada because it uses play money only, with no deposits or payouts. It is not a licensed or regulated exchange.

Question 4

Can I run a prediction market for my friends?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Private markets are free: create a market on any question, invite friends with a link or access code, and everyone trades with the same starting play money.

Question 5

Can I trade on VPX with a bot?

Accepted Answer

Yes. VPX has a public REST API with an OpenAPI spec and an MCP server for AI agents. Create an API key in your developer settings and follow the trading bot guide.

Question 6

How does VPX prevent manipulation and insider trading?

Accepted Answer

VPX is an order book, so it never takes the other side of a trade. It monitors for suspicious trading and can void trades, suspend accounts or delay resolution. Concerns can be reported to integrity@vancouverpx.ca.
