Run a mock trading game
In a mock trading game, someone picks a number nobody knows yet, like the total of five hidden cards. Players buy if they think the answer is higher than the price and sell if they think it is lower.
Quant trading firms use these games in interviews and campus events. VPX gives you a real order book, positions and a running profit and loss for each player, so you can run one without a whiteboard or spreadsheet.
It is free and uses play money only. Reveal a clue each round, and when the true number is known, settle the market and the standings show who traded best.

What do the five cards in the envelope add up to?
Five cards from a standard deck are sealed in an envelope. Aces count as 1 and kings as 13, so the total is between 5 and 65. The host reveals one card per round and settles at the true total.
Create this marketHow it works
- Create the market below. It is set up as a future on the total of five cards, from 5 to 65.
- Share the invite link with your players, or put it on the projector as a QR code.
- Players trade with quick commands like b 10 34 to buy 10 at 34. Pause trading between rounds to reveal a card.
- Type the final total to settle, and every position is paid against it.
